Antenatal Courses
We begin by creating a welcoming space to connect with other local families sharing this journey. This session covers essential birth preparation—from birth plans, hospital bags, and due dates to the physiology and stages of labour. You’ll gain a clear understanding of how your body works and what to expect when meeting your baby, so you feel confident and prepared from day one.
Lell from Mini First Aid South East London will deliver a practical Infant First Aid session designed specifically for expectant parents. The session covers essential skills and knowledge to help parents respond confidently in an emergency, including how to assess a casualty, recovery position, baby CPR, febrile seizures and choking. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions and practise the skills.

Note: The order of this session might change depending on Lell's availability.
Week three is all about birth settings and labour. We’ll look at home birth, midwife-led units and hospital births, and talk through different paths your birth might take — including unmedicated and medicated births, and caesarean birth.

In week four we will cover practical newborn care—including infant sleep, safe sleep guidance, babywearing, and nappy changing—with a special focus on infant feeding. You’ll gain guidance on navigating the immediate days after birth, accessing feeding support, and building a strong local network to help you feel confident throughout the early weeks and beyond.
Week five focuses on recovery and life after birth. We’ll talk about physical recovery, nutrition, maternal and paternal mental health, how relationships can change with your partner and family, and share local groups and classes you can connect with for ongoing support.
The final session is a chance to answer any remaining questions and spend some relaxed social time together, celebrating your journey so far and looking ahead to meeting your baby.
Only £220 for you and one support person.
