Pregnancy  Prenatal Care.png

This session provides an overview of preparing for birth, including creating a birth plan, packing for hospital, understanding due dates, and what to expect during labour and birth. It covers each stage of labour, meeting your baby, situations where medical support may be needed, including induction, assisted birth, and caesarean birth, as well as information about perineal tears and episiotomy to help you feel informed and prepared.

Lell from Mini First Aid South East London will deliver a practical Infant First Aid session designed specifically for expectant parents. The session covers essential skills and knowledge to help parents respond confidently in an emergency, including how to assess a casualty, recovery position baby CPR, febrile seizures and choking. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions and practice the skills using manikins, gaining the confidence to care for their baby in the early weeks and beyond.

The Golden Hour (First Hour Post-Birth).png

This session provides practical guidance on caring for your newborn, with a particular focus on infant feeding. It covers breastfeeding or chestfeeding, bottle feeding, responsive feeding, and where to access feeding support. Parents will also learn about everyday newborn care, including nappy changing, infant sleep, safe sleep guidance, swaddling, and babywearing, helping you to build confidence in caring for your baby during the early weeks and beyond.

Postpartum Healing & Recovery.png

This session focuses on the fourth trimester, exploring the physical, emotional, and practical transition into parenthood. It covers postnatal recovery and self-care, including the healing process after birth, what to expect in the weeks following delivery, and ways to support your physical and emotional wellbeing. We will explore the importance of reflecting on and debriefing your birth experience, alongside guidance on creating a personalised postnatal plan to support you.

Labor & Birth Support.png

This session focuses on helping you adjust to your new roles and routines. It covers accessing local support services, maternal and paternal mental health, changes to relationships, identity, and family life, and managing expectations as families establish a new normal. The session provides practical advice and reassurance to support you through the ongoing transition into parenthood beyond the early newborn weeks.
