Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between you (the client) and Doula Haus – Jana Scholz. By booking services, you agree to the terms set out below.

2. Services Provided

I provide the following services:

  • Antenatal classes and education

  • Birth support

  • Postnatal support

 

All services are offered in a non-medical capacity. I do not provide clinical or medical advice.

Nature of Information Provided

All information, guidance, and materials provided are for general educational purposes only and reflect current accepted standards at the time of delivery. They are not a substitute for individual medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

You should seek advice from your midwife, GP, obstetrician, or other appropriate healthcare professional for any concerns relating to your health, pregnancy, or baby.

3. Booking, Payment and Fees

  • A booking is confirmed once a deposit or full payment is received

  • Payment terms will be agreed in advance depending on the service

  • Full payment must be received before services are delivered unless otherwise agreed

Fee Structure

  • Antenatal classes: from 120GBP

  • Birth support package: from 1200GBP

  • Postnatal support: from 25GBP/ph

 

Prices are subject to change, but confirmed bookings will honour the agreed rate.

Late Payments

  • Payments must be made by the agreed due date

  • Late payments may incur an additional admin fee of 30GBP

  • Services may be paused or withheld until outstanding balances are settled

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Client cancellations

  • Cancellations must be made in writing

  • Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed

  • A 30GBP administration fee will apply

Antenatal Classes Refund Policy

  • 50% refund if cancellation is made more than 6 weeks before the start date

  • No refund if cancellation is made less than 6 weeks before the start date

  • Where possible, you may:

    • Transfer to a future course

    • Convert your booking into credit to use for other services

My cancellations

If I need to cancel due to illness or unforeseen circumstances:

  • I will offer an alternative date where possible

  • A refund will be issued if rescheduling is not possible

Minimum Numbers for Classes

In-person classes are subject to a minimum number of participants. If this minimum is not reached, the class may be cancelled. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.

 

Alternatively, clients may choose to transfer to another available class or use the amount paid as credit towards other services provided by Doula Haus – Jana Scholz.

 

Clients will be informed as soon as reasonably possible if a class is cancelled due to insufficient bookings.

5. Birth Support Terms

  • I will be on-call from 38–42 weeks of pregnancy

  • I will attend your birth when notified and remain for a reasonable period postpartum

  • Backup support may be arranged in exceptional circumstances

 

Delays due to distance, traffic, or other commitments cannot be fully guaranteed, but every effort will be made to attend promptly.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate and honest information

  • Inform me of any changes relevant to care

  • Maintain respectful and safe communication

 

If you or your support person feel unwell, you agree not to attend in-person sessions and to seek appropriate medical advice where necessary.

7. Scope of Practice and Liability

  • I provide emotional, physical, and informational support only and do not provide medical care, diagnosis, or treatment

  • I do not replace medical professionals such as midwives or doctors

  • All medical decisions remain the responsibility of the client and their healthcare providers

 

While I take all reasonable care in delivering my services, I cannot guarantee specific outcomes relating to pregnancy, birth, or postnatal experiences.

 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I shall not be held liable for:

  • Any medical outcomes

  • Decisions made by the client or healthcare providers

  • Circumstances outside of my control

 

Clients are responsible for their personal belongings during sessions. I cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft of personal property.

 

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so under UK law.

8. Confidentiality and Data Protection

All personal information shared will be kept confidential and processed in accordance with my Data Protection Policy. By engaging my services, you acknowledge and agree to the handling of your personal data as outlined in that policy.

9. Online Services and Classes

  • Online sessions are delivered via agreed platforms

  • Clients are responsible for their own internet access

  • Sessions may not be recorded or shared without permission

  • One support person may attend antenatal classes at no additional cost

  • Additional attendees may be permitted at my discretion and may incur an extra fee

Missed Sessions

If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, I will do my best to support you with any missed information where reasonably possible (e.g. via resources or follow-up communication). Due to scheduling limits, make-up sessions or transfers are not guaranteed.

10. Marketing and Communications

  • You will only receive marketing emails if you have provided consent

  • You may unsubscribe at any time

11. Intellectual Property

All materials provided (e.g. class content, guides, resources) remain the property of Doula Haus – Jana Scholz and are for personal use only. They may not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without permission.

12. Force Majeure

I shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing my obligations where this is due to events beyond my reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, emergencies, extreme weather, pandemics, or government restrictions.

13. Right to Refuse Service

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue services where I feel unable to meet a client’s needs, or where there is a breakdown in mutual respect, safety, or communication.

14. Complaints

If you have any concerns, please contact me directly so I can resolve the issue promptly.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
